Download Yamaha Xg Player Windows 7 17
this vsti driver is compatible with the yamaha xg, roland gs, and emuxg midis and it is the best midi driver for them. the emuxg driver is a software synthesizer for windows, which functions as a vsti plugin. this vsti version of the emuxg is a part of the yamaha sol2 package, but it was not released to the public.

vst midi driver supports windows xp/vista/7+, but on the windows xp it is better to use the official yamaha s-yxg50 wdm driver, which you can download from the microsoft windows update servers: 4mb version (better quality, consumes more ram), 2mb version (worse quality, consumes less ram). this wdm driver can be installed manually using add hardware master in the control panel. don't forget to set yamaha s-yxg50 as the default system midi synth in the sound settings.
the s-yxg50 midi driver is a small program, which is used for downloading midi data from the yamaha s-yxg50 synthesizer. downloading is possible both as a standalone program and via plug-in live 4.0 (it can be used as a virtual midi control surface).

i have been in contact with yamaha and here is a summary of the outcome: they have developed a 64bit driver for our sw1000xg soundcard. it's a big success for all of us.
they will not support any new xg synthesizers and xg music in the xg-central website any longer. no exceptions, no workarounds. it's a hard decision for them, but we have to respect it.
they will support their own xg soundcards (cx5, cx5pro, cxg, xg-pro, qy100, qy12 and sw1000) in the xg-central website for one year. after this year it's up to us to decide if we want to upgrade to a new soundcard or upgrade to windows 10.
they will upgrade their own soundcards in the future to windows 10, but they will not support any xg music or any xg synthesizers any longer.
this all was not an easy decision for yamaha.
our programmer has now started to work on the new drivers (64bit) and we will present the first beta for all our xg soundcards in a few days. a lot of testing will be done and we will provide a big update on our xgc forums. if you like to participate, please stay tuned!
